When it comes to ambience, nothing beats the perfect coffee shop.
But what makes good ambience?
It has to be unique.
And of course have good coffee. Or in my case, Chai!
I live for smaller, independently owned coffee shops. They really have to set themselves apart to draw people in so they can keep their doors open.
So I decided to go around and share 5 of my favorite independent coffee shops in Minneapolis.
Starting us off?
Anelace Coffee House in Northeast Minneapolis
This little hidden gem is plopped right on Central, tucked right in with a tattoo parlor and a Mexican food restaurant across the way.
With Anelace, less is more.
The light pours onto old refurbished hardwood floors that meet a newer addition of one continuous wooden bench stretching the length of the shop. It seems to wrap you in a little embrace as it curls in on either end.
Apart from the natural light, the coffee shop focuses on a vintage chandelier, and some industrial feeling bulbs spread in between each table.
My favorite part of the aesthetic in Anelace though would have to be the warmth that fills the place from the overhead light reflected off the ceramic tile backsplash behind the bar.
Simple.
Understated.
But it provides a unique flare that truly sets the mood.
Not to mention, their chai tea latte is da bomb!
