"I’m happy with the new Nest thermostat but it does take some getting use to because it is WiFi dependent for both installation and full function operation. If you’re pretty handy it’s not difficult but if not you will want to call your A/C tech to install, especially if you need the “C” wire and your current thermostat doesn’t have one. (Watch some of the installation videos on YouTube before you start). Most people will find they need a backplate to cover the unfinished area behind the old thermostat since the Nest is much smaller than most existing thermostats. I thought the only backplate offered (which is not included) was ugly so I refinished and painted the area behind the old thermostat which made for a very clean, minimalist installation. Installation guidance and settings are done using the Nest app which you should download before you start."
