Lumiline bulbs are just as unique as they are well-loved by the homeowners who use them. They can be hard to find, so where should you look when yours burn out?

Though Lumiline lights closely resemble much more common fluorescent tubes, they are actually very different! Like fluorescent bulbs, Lumiline lights are long, white and thin. But they don’t have pins on either side like a fluorescent—instead, they contain a long filament that runs end to end inside the bulb.
They come in 20 watt, 30 watt, and 40 watt models, as well as several different lengths. They also can be purchased in clear or frosted finishes. They have caps on either end of the bulb, so make sure you save your caps as new lights do not come with these.
So what is the point of these unusual light bulbs? They are typically found in classic light fixtures in older homes, and people love them for the soft, even glow they provide in bathrooms, kitchens and more. Since these bulbs pop on and off the actual switch for the light fixture, there is really nothing like them on the market today—meaning, they can be quite hard to find!
