What's the best way to spend these fall nights? Fire and friends.

campfire

Fire.

Just that one word evokes such strong images and memories for me. There is honestly nothing I love more than a crisp fall night with friends surrounding a campfire. Just imagine yourself there for a second.

  • Lawn chairs scattered around the fire pit.
  • The smell of wood burning.
  • The glow of the flickering flames.
  • Family and friends in ongoing conversation as marshmallows and sticks are being passed around.
  • Laughter filling the air as the smoke and sparking embers meet it.
  • Jeans and sweatshirts.
  • A time where you can finally stop and breathe and take in the moment.

If you read that and laughed at how deep I just made some flames seem, then you have clearly never experienced a true campfire.

And guess what?!

That crisp fall night is just around the corner. So you're in luck!

We are in prime campfire season, friends!

Yes I'm serious. I do not joke about the majestic beauty that is fire.

So, if you're in, I challenge you to not go to bed early. Don't sit on your couch and binge-watch Netflix.(although that is an entirely good option for the following night. No shame.)

Instead....

You guessed it! Have a FIRE!!

That may have been a little too abrasive, but I promise I'm not yelling at you. I'm just trying to light a fire under you. Too much? Sorry, I just like to spark my readers' interest. Okay, I'm done.

But honestly, who doesn't like fire? More importantly, what's not to like?

I don't care who you are; there is nothing more mesmerizing than the unbridled power of fire. Stare into a campfire for a few minutes and tell me you don't find yourself relaxing and taking in the moment.

Fires are grounding.

It's a way to bring a piece of nature right to your back yard. The glow of a fire is something that has and will continue to stand the test of time. I don't care if we have robots running our lives in 50 years, campfires will always bring people together. Because that's what it's about.

People.

Taking time to be with the ones you love and do life with. There's nothing like it.

So these next two months, before winter comes and smacks us in the face, take every chance you can to set your nights on fire. (I don't care if it's cheesy; I think it's beautiful!)

I promise it won't let ya down.
