New Christmas decorating ideas

Do you find yourself getting tired of the same old Christmas, but wonder, “What’s there to change about Christmas?”  After all, it’s been the same for hundreds of years, and, well, a saying comes to mind… “You don’t mess with tradition.”

As true as that may be, there’s no harm in switching up your Christmas décor.

After all, Christmas doesn’t come from a store.

Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.

Unique Christmas Trees and Tree Toppers

Christmas tree in a classroom

As “far out” as it may be, upside-down Christmas trees are a great option if you’re looking to flip your Christmas decor.  Historically, hanging a Christmas tree upside down was a sign made in the Middle Ages by people paying respects to their religious icons, (furthermore, it is also a very common Polish tradition.)  Now, it's simply an alternative and space saving way to display your Christmas tree.  (If your family is even one percent as chaotic as mine during the holidays, saving space alone should be enough to sell you on the idea!)

If flipping your Christmas tree seems a little too extreme, maybe you’ll meet me halfway with differently colored Christmas trees.  We’ve got every color you regularly think of, like red, blue and orange; we’ve even got the colors you don’t ever think of, like chartreuse, pewter and champagne.

Differently colored Christmas trees come in handy when you’re trying to abide by certain color schemes and accents throughout the living space the Christmas tree will inhabit.

Lastly, if you’d prefer to spend your holidays daydreaming about being somewhere else for Christmas, (perhaps somewhere warmer than where you may be sanctioned), let one of our palm Christmas trees help you with that.

If changing your entire Christmas tree layout isn’t in the cards, there’s always investing in a new tree topper.  For example, who wouldn’t want a little Yoda watching down with Christmas cheer from on top of your tree?

More seriously, a classic, traditional angel is never a bad option; either realistic models or simplistic stained-glass inspired designs will successfully bring your tree and its surroundings the comfort of nostalgia.  Furthermore, a star is always a beautiful accent, be it for the sake of tradition and nostalgia, or an homage to the star of Bethlehem.

Christmas Lighting and Interior Décor

Christmas lights illuminating a farm

Though they can be a pain to install, the holidays really wouldn’t be the same without rows and rows of friendly neighborhood houses gleaming with Christmas lights.

If you’re looking for something new, why not consider LED Tape Lights as an alternative to traditional Christmas lights?  They’re highly customizable, tactile and can be left up year-round without making you look like the tacky neighbors who haven’t bothered with taking down their Christmas lights in the off-season!  Most LED Tape Lights are waterproof and are therefore able to withstand even the harshest of blizzards.

Speaking of which, everyone agrees that many places get hit badly with the winter season.  Of all the winter wonderlands, however, I think it’s safe to say that Minnesota gets it the absolute worst.

This means lots of time spent indoors.  As far as interior decoration, our Christmas ribbon collection offers deluxe purple and gold ribbons – for those Minnesotans to decorate their interiors with their favorite colors, the colors of the Minnesota Vikings football team!

We also have a vast collection of candles.  Scented for all your smelling needs with holiday scents like cinnamon and vanilla, Christmas really wouldn't be the same without all of these 'feel-good' smells.  If candles tickle your fancy, don't forget to check out candle holders to go with them!
