I haven't actually used this yet, although I plugged it in to see how it will look. Very pretty! I had bought it as a pathway light but it appears that it should not be used outside for prolonged periods. Also if you want to connect a couple you really can't do it outside - the connector is indoor-only. I am going to use it outside on my deck for party lighting but store it the rest of the time. So if you want a very nice accent light for special occasions I recommend it. If you need something more durable to illuminate a walkway you may want to shop around some more.
