The three-way bulbs are great. Interestingly, they work in reverse of standard three-ways. That is, the first switch is the brightest and the next two levels are progressively dimmer.

I use this bulb in my porch light that automatically turns on at dusk and off at sunrise, so I needed to save on both the operating cost and environmental impact. This bulb satisfies both goals..

Several 3-way lamps in our house have had single bulbs for years. Those bulbs became hot but were not sufficient for reading. This bulb is excellent for reading or for lower light intensity purposes. It works from high intensity to low, opposite the incandescent bulbs of old, which takes getting used to.

I purchased these bulbs with reservation. Thinking they would not be as bright as conventional bulbs.... I was amazed!! They are just as bright. I will be purchasing more of them in the future!!!

The lights do, in fact, have 3 distinct light levels in each bulb. The lights I received appear to be of widely different wattages & lumen levels.
