Troubleshooting
Problem: Cannot switch power on or off with a newly installed sensor switch
Sensor requires a true earth ground connection in order to operate properly. First ensure that the device's green and bare wires are connected to the ground in your wallbox. If a ground is not available, this device will not function properly. If you do have a ground but are still experiencing this issue, it's possible that the ground wire does not directly return to the breaker panel. In that situation, a true earth ground connection would need to be introduced, or this device may not function properly. If you believe this is the issue, please call Lutron's support line at 844-LUTRON-1
Problem: Lights do not turn on when space is occupied
If being used in a 3 or 4-way application, wiring may be incorrect. If using with a 3-way mechanical switch, check wiring changes were made at the mechanical switch per step 3 of the Installation Instructions
Sensor is vacancy only model
Sensor is set to one of the Ambient Light Detection (ALD) settings and the room is too bright for the current light level setting
Sensor does not have full view of the room. Move objects that may be blocking line-of-sight
Problem: Lights turn off while space is occupied
Sensor's timeout may be too short
Sensor's sensitivity may be set for low
Sensor may not have full view of the room
Problem: Lights will not turn off once space is unoccupied
Sensor's timeout may be set for too long
An external noise such as an HVAC vent may be interfering with the sensor. Try changing the sensitivity to low
Problem: 3-way switch does not turn the lights on
3-way switch may have a locator light, which can affect the sensor's performance. Lutron recommends replacing the 3-way switch with one that does not have a locator light
Check wiring in Installation Instructions
Problem: Lights turn on in vacancy mode
In vacancy mode a 15 second grace period follows the timeout where the sensor will turn back on if it senses motion
