The bulbs are exactly what I needed. Soft downward light and much better uplight that washes the adjacent wall.

I installed a hanging fixture over the kitchen dining table not anticipating how close and bright the bulb would be. It turned out to look like an interrogation lamp. THIS bulb with the bottom cover was the solution. Now we have indirect light on the table with and don't have to squint during dinner.
