I like a lot this product and I have been using this type of 120V flasher for over 35 years now. It is quite inexpensive and it is the simplest way to add lights flashing to home decoration at Christmas time. It is rated 120 VAC, 100 Watts (0.8 AAC). It is polarized (neutral leg is wider than the hot leg), it plugs straight in the 120 VAC outlet and the lights cord plugs into it. Since it operates based on a bi-metal piece (Note: the bi-metal used to make the ON and OFF contact is surrounded by a bypass wire and it warms up the bi-metal depending on the amount of current passing through the bypass wire, thus the larger the load, the more current surrounds and heats the bi-metal initiating the contact), the rate of flashing does vary based on the size of the lighting load at 10 to 15 flashes per minute. I would like to caution those who plug in it only the new type of LED Christmas decoration lights: one set of 60 LEDs draws only about 0.020 Amps, so this is not enough to heat the bi-metal and make it to turn the power ON and OFF. The way to solve this problem/inconvenience is to insert in the receptacle located at the end of the last Christmas lighting cord a 7.5 Watts colored 120 VAC light bulb using a 120 VAC adaptor to a 120 VAC bulb.
