We purchased this unit for our Camp. We have an old oil burner at our Camp (and now with wifi) we wanted to have it warm and cozy by the time we arrive. The remote control ability of the thermostat from our phones is perfect!
It took a good bit of exhaustive research, an email, and finally a phone call to the Emerson support staff to learn that the 24 VAC needed for the thermostat can be independent and is isolated from the thermostat contacts. (The last thing I wanted to do was fry my new thermostat by not sharing a common contact wire with the 24 VAC!) This is not necessary with the Sensi...
I could not easily access the existing 24 VAC on the oil burner control and simply ran separate 24 VAC wires to power the thermostat.
It was considerably cheaper to purchase a doorbell transformer rather than facing the possibility of having to replace a fragile old oil burner control in the event something broke during its disassembly/re-assembly to access its 24 VAC.
All things considered, I only wish that the information I needed was available in the installation guide rather than trying to "pull" it out of Emerson.
If you do require support, please note that I am still waiting (it is May, 1 month now) to receive an email back from their support staff telling me what I learned over a 5-7 minute (including the hold time) phone call.

It’s has a backlight for nighttime adjustments or if you just need to see the setting. It also has a humidity notification, that’s warns you of the house gets to dewy which can lead to a host of potential health issues. Great thermostat.

The verdict is out. Issue is if you are replacing old systems that don't even follow the wire codes that are being provided. This was used to replace an old Honeywell with analog clock & pins (heating only). So I have C wire, but I seem to have two of them and this wouldn't work with just one of them. I had to play with the wiring and seem to have got it to work however; I get a short chirp from what seems to be the transformer on the boiler when it shuts off. It never had done that before. Not certain if this is an issue or not and it's not heating season yet so I don't know if this will have an affect down the road. I cannot understand why the manufacturer would have you cut the jumper wire rather than install a jumper clip like on PC boards. It's about the same space and height of the jumper they have you cut if your installation requires it. The App and programming seem good & easily connected to wifi, I like the functionality and do hope it's durable & works well once heating season starts.

This was easy to hookup, I didn’t have the c wire but a had extra wires going up to furnace/ac so I was able to hook it up. Connecting to iPhone and Amazon Alexa was easy. I also hooked one up for my sister. I like being able to use thermostat with iphone or Alexa, this is nice when my wife’s sleeping in bedroom where thermostat is and I’m in the living room.

Purchased to update existing mercury based thermostat from 1995. Installation was easier than expected. Due to replacing an older device it took about 30 min to install. The downloadable app was helpful in guiding through installation. It took a few attempts to connect the device to WiFi and the app but no issues once connected. Easy to use interface due to the simplicity. Display will turn on back light when touching any button to make it easy to read in low light. Feel it is a good value between price and function.

Had a few disconnects from the WiFi early on, but seems stable now. Very happy with this thermostat.

We have six (6) heating zones which I need to monitor from a central location. These thermostats install quickly, and have performed very well. I would like to be able to monitor via a desktop computer, but am not interested in purchasing the BMS software.

Set up & operations were easy. Occasionally, any one of the three thermostats go off line. I either have to reprogram them or wait a while for them to reconnect to my wifi router.

I purchased 2 of these thermostats as a part of a promotion. For the price I paid, you can't beat a "smart" thermostat. I replaced an older honeywell programmable one. The installation was pretty straightforward and came with good instructions. However, take note that you likely need a smartphone and the app to setup. The wifi seems to drop a bit on the app, which is somewhat of an inconvenience. Also, I didn't utilize a "C" wire for my application, so we'll see how long the batteries last. Otherwise I like the features. The built in hygrometer is nice. I kinda wish the temperature swing setting displayed a range, rather than a "short, medium, or long" duration. Overall it's a decent thermostat, and even better if you get it as a part of a promotion.

I personally installed and began using the sensi smart thermostat. Installation was relatively easy, although actually installing it took longer than 30 min due to different wiring than I expected. However, once installed it works well! The only problem I currently have is a regular "ticking" or "clicking" sound from the device. I checked and re-fastened the wires but it seems to be coming from the device when it's connected to the wall. It's not too bothersome, but it is noticable.

Wifi connectivity is spotty. Despite being a few feet from the router, it regularly disconnects. Also, the humidity readings are not in line with the 3 other hygrometers I have. This always reports 5-10% higher than the other hygrometers, which report all within 1% of eachother.
