The shape of this bulb is perfect for the shade that goes over it. It is used with 2 other bulbs for shaving for my husband. I could not find this in any retail store so was glad that online was available. The last time I put this bulb in was in 2000. I would say that longevity is very important.

Product is a tremendously good replacement for the traditional lightbulb outlawed by congress. However, the stated life of 2,000 hours is grossly exagerrated. I have used well in excess of 50 of these bulbs and I average apx 500 - 600 hours per bulb. But since the bulb is in all other respects so perfect, I continue to buy them.
