I don’t think a “Silent Night” has ever been more warranted than it is for the Christmas Season of 2020, for this year has been nothing but an insane and unexpected hurricane of disruption to our normal, daily lives.
Now, we are all aware of the age-old Christmas ode after which this blog is based, but what does the song mean, exactly, and why should we all need a “Silent Night”? Well, we start by looking into the song...
As I'm sure you're already aware, the first verse of lyrics proceeds as follows:
Silent night,
Holy night,
All is calm,
All is bright...
You can probably think of the rest at this point, because, well, everyone knows this song. You’re going to hear it every Christmas season in retail stores, shopping malls, and on the radio. As a matter of fact, you probably know this song so well that I feel obligated to apologize for bringing it up, as it’s now probably stuck in your mind, and will be for the next 4 hours.
Oh well, you clicked on this blog.
In the song, the “Silent Night” refers to a calm, quiet night for the newly born Jesus Christ to sleep peacefully through. The rest of the song in and of itself describes the Christmas Nativity scene, and it references the company of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and the shepherds, who arrived bringing gifts for the newborn, all under the light of the great Eastern Star of Bethlehem.
Speaking of light...
...All is bright...
Nothing sets the mood like lighting, and that’s a fact. Whether it be for a romantic dinner date, or a crazy rock show, lighting will make or break the occasion. As far as lighting goes for a Silent Night, we’re going to want to keep it simple, easy on the eyes, and, above all, peaceful.
When trying to set a peaceful mood for any occasion, candles are always a surefire (ha!) approach. With the gentle warm light and blankety flickering of candles, peace will flood the room like an anticipatory child on Christmas morning. And, with a scent of your choice, an aroma will only add to beautiful vibe.
We offer a wide variety of Flameless LED Candles here to accommodate every desirable detail. And, thankfully, with Flameless LED Candles, your worries of fire catching the curtains ablaze or your flame fading and burning out can be fully dismissed.
As far as a Silent Night goes, we’d recommend checking out our Cinnamon-Scented Flameless LED Candle selection, as nothing quite speaks “Christmas” like Cinnamon. If cinnamon just isn’t the scent for you, there are always other options such as vanilla, pumpkin spice and pine.
On the subject of pine, if your preferred theme of décor involves a natural, earthier vibe, our Carved Flameless LED Candle products will be just the thing for you! From pinecones to tree bark, the mold of the candle can vary to your preference.
Ultimately, if you think having an intoxicating aroma in the air will detract from the silent peace this night is meant for, there’s always the easy-going unscented way of things.
Lastly, if you want to spice up your décor-game just a little bit more, we offer some beautiful Candle Rings that work to truly accent your candles wherever they reside.
With String Lights, you can add just a hint of Christmas flare to the peacefulness of your Silent Night, as no other kind of light is more commonly used in/associated with the season.
Now, we all have those neighbors that go ALL OUT with their Christmas lights and cross that fine line between festive and obnoxious, but not all Christmas lights standout and are eye-catching to the point of provocation or excitement. Some, and I'd go as far as to say most Christmas Lights, naturally provide an underwhelming glow, and it's quantity that pushes it over the edge.
For the most petite and subtle lighting, we'd recommend setting up our Micro LED String Sets. With these, they're so small and fine that quantity shouldn't be a concern. From a mere 12 lights to a whopping 1300 lights, these can cover any range of distance, and provide the perfect calming glow you'd be looking for in a Silent Night.
To accent the beautiful nature that this holiday brings with accents of pine and snow, Artificial Christmas Greenery can be the perfect way to bring these themes into your own home, and further illustrate the happiness of the Christmas Season as well as the peacefulness of your Silent Night.
Odds are, you've already got some of this set up around your home, even if it is just your Christmas tree. If that's all you have, or all you care to invest in, this works just fine on its own. Whether or not it's lit, the wonder that the presence of the tree alone brings is more than enough.
If you are in need of purchasing a Christmas tree, or needing to decorate one, we offer products for both! Our selection of trees covers a huge amount of colors and sizes. As far as covering the tree with wonderful decorations, we have a multitude of ornaments, ribbons, bows and more for the greatest Christmas display.
Now, you still may be wondering, "Why do we need a Silent Night?"
Well, this has been a year of chaos, disagreements and isolation... And that's what's been at the forefront of our minds. If we can just take one evening, sit down with our loved ones, and share in a moment of peace... who knows, it may do some good.
...Or, it'll give us a little more time to wish, pray and dream that 2021 will be nowhere near as bad as 2020. That would work too.
Either way, have yourself a Silent Night one of these nights, and let us help you light it up!
