We teamed up with Westinghouse to donate 1,000 blue light bulbs to the Fargo Police Department after a veteran officer was tragically killed in the line of duty.
Earlier this week, LightBulbs.com partnered with Westinghouse to donate 1,000 blue light bulbs in support of the Fargo Police Department after they lost one of their own in the line of duty on Feb. 11. Officer Jason Moszer, 33, was shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call that ended in gunfire. The six-year veteran of the force leaves behind a wife and two young children.
The city of Fargo has shown tremendous support for the Moszer family during this difficult time, and we’re honored to have been given the chance to make a difference. After we were contacted by a relative of Detective Mark Voigtschild of the Fargo PD about potentially providing blue light bulbs for the people of Fargo to use in showing their support for the family, we immediately began working with Westinghouse to provide the bulbs at no cost to the police department.
"I’m a father, just like Officer Moszer was a father. I’m a husband, just like Officer Moszer was a husband. It’s very difficult to think of not having the ability to protect and support my wife and children anymore," said Jason Bourassa, Director of Sales/Distribution for LightBulbs.com. "So when any of us are in a position to help, care for and support a fallen officer’s family, we should do it. Officer Moszer gave his life protecting a woman and her child, the least we can do is contribute in any way to the provision and support of his wife and children."
"We got the bulbs and we have lines outside of the police department to get them to show their support and to raise money for the family,” Detective Voigtschild said. “Again, we cannot thank you enough for what you [and Westinghouse] did.”
